Springy Spring
A brief post with brief recommendations.
What I’m reading this week
Set against a Japanese background, Water Moon is full of whimsy with all the qualities of a Studio Ghibli movie in almost episodic adventure form like Avatar: the Last Airbender.
It’s an adult-fantasy story with literary qualities.
1.5 🌶️ / 5 🌶️ spice level (anything that happens fades-to-black).
This has probably been my favourite fantasy book so far in 2025!
What I’m playing (board game) this week
I’ve had my eye on Flamecraft for a while, and a few months ago I splurged and bought it. It does not disappoint!
It’s adorable, the art is gorgeous, and the puns, pun-tastic.
Flamecraft is a 1-5 player game that’s both competitive and cooperative. This game is the definition of cozy fantasy.
What I’m playing (computer game) this week
Are you looking for a relaxing game to suck up all the free time you don’t have? Then look no further: Tiny Glade
This game was developed by only two developers and published only late last year. They’re constantly improving and updating the game, so there’s new content to be fiddled with! In the most recent update they increased terrain height and allowed cylindrical buildings to rotate (amongst other things you’ll have to check out for yourself).
